The Project

About This Project

Haripur keeps growing, and its green cover keeps shrinking. The Plantation Drive is KTS Welfare Foundation's answer — a community-led effort to put living, breathing trees back into the neighborhoods that need them most.

Each monsoon season, our volunteers fan out to schools, parks, roadside verges and masjid courtyards with saplings, tools and watering plans. But we don't just plant and leave — every sapling is assigned a caretaker and monitored through its first two years, because a tree that survives is worth ten that don't.

Our Work

What KTS Welfare Does

Planting is the easy part — keeping trees alive is the real project.

Site Selection

We identify schools, parks and roadside strips with caretakers and water access — the two things saplings need most.

Native Saplings

We source hardy, heat-tolerant native species — neem, peepal, moringa and more — suited to local soil and climate.

Community Planting

Volunteers, students and residents plant together — building ownership so the whole neighborhood guards its trees.

Care & Monitoring

Each sapling gets a named caretaker, a watering rota and regular check-ups through its first two years of life.

Community Stories

What a little shade means to the people who live beneath it.

“

Our schoolyard was bare concrete. The children planted the saplings themselves, and now they water them every morning before assembly. The trees are theirs.

In summer our street used to shimmer with heat. The neem trees KTS planted now give shade to the whole mohalla — people sit under them in the evening like a small park.
